Use this Check list to see what safety equipment you may need on your boat.
*** Please Keep In Mind that some things are required by law and are different depending on your location.***
Life Jackets or personal flotation devices (PFD) - USCG approved Type I, II or type III ( wearable and properly sized - one for each person in the boat).
Seat cushions - type IV USCG approved throwable rescue device.
Sound Producing Devices - Whistles - Air horns, and bells.
Fire Extenguishers - Approved for Marine usage.
Visual Distress Signals - USCG approved Flares, smoke, strob lights and flags.
Anchor and at least 100 ft of line.
Bilge pump and or mauel pumps.
Tool Kits - Fuses - wire - asortment of screws or bolts and plastic straps and ties.
Flashlights - Floating and watertight flash light with spare batteries and bulbs.
VHS Radio/CellPhone - For Communications.
First Aid Kit - Foil Blanket, cold pack, liquid soap. scissors tweezers, wire cutters.
Compass - For Navigation.
Charts and Water way Maps.
Spare gas tank - with the proper hose fittings.
Throw line or Rescue Line And with Flotation Device.
Always check your light bilge pump, electical, waterpump before leaving.
Start your boatmotor - Test the battery to make sure it's charged.
Manually inspect trailer tires, light and trailer hitch connections before leaving home.
Make sure the plug is in before you launch your boat.
